What To Do with your Anthropology Degree!

UTMAS is holding another online event in collaboration with the office of advancement/alumni relations! Join Caitlin Pakosh and Chantal MacDonald to hear about how they use their anthropology degree in their respective fields of law and medicine.

Caitlin Pakosh graduated from UTM with a forensic anthropology degree and went on to achieve her JD from University of Calgary in 2011. Caitlin represents the Crown at the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice in criminal prosecutions across a variety of offences and procedures for adult and youth matters. Caitlin also has experience researching and writing about the intersection between forensic science and criminal law, most notably in her award-winning book featuring thirty-three expert contributors, “The Lawyer’s Guide to the Forensic Sciences”. Before joining the Ministry of the Attorney General, Caitlin opened her own criminal defence firm after working for several years at Innocence Canada as its Senior Staff Lawyer. Since 2018, Caitlin has also been an instructor in the Forensic Science program at the University of Toronto Mississauga"

Chantal MacDonald graduated from UTM with a double major in Anthropology and Biology, continued on to receive her Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs & Quality Control in 2010 from Seneca College. As Manager of Canadian Regulatory Affairs, Chantal provides strategic regulatory support for Clinical Trial Applications in Canada as well as advice to small, medium and large pharmaceutical companies on how to maintain compliance in clinical trials in Canada. Chantal also provide guidance on labeling generation, review and negotiation, and interacts with various government agencies to negotiate approval of submissions. Chantal has worked with the ICON group of companies since 2012 and prior to this she held roles with INC Research and Health Canada."
