2020-2021 UTMAS Elections

UTMAS will be holding elections for executive positions in the coming weeks.

Please see the attached poster for available positions and brief descriptions of basic duties for each position.


All positions are CCR-approved, provide you with new leadership, and networking experiences and skills. Further, this opportunity will allow you to strengthen community within UTM by building connections with faculty, and professionals in anthropology.


Important Deadlines:

  • Nomination Period: March 22 to 26

  • A Virtually Recorded All Candidates Meeting will be held, between the 26th and 29th

  • Campaign Period: March 29 to April 2

  • Voting Period: April 5 to 7th (8:00am-11:59pm)

To be eligible, to nominate yourself, or vote in this election you must be a full/part-time undergraduate student enrolled in one of the following:

  • Anthropology Specialist program

  • Anthropology Major programs

  • Anthropology Minor programs

  • Forensic Anthropology Specialist program

  • Students enrolled in ANT101 and ANT102

Interested in running?

Interested candidates will need to email CRO: mariam@utmsu.ca, with their completed nominations package (see attachment). Filling out the first page of the nominations package, which includes (stating you name, year, subject POSt, why you want to run and position, and which position you are interested in running for), please ensure you initial/sign the bottom of each page.


You also may choose or change the specific position you are running for after attending the Candidates meeting. For further information on positions, or UTMAS policies, refer to the 2021 UTMAS Constitution (see attachment).
